Wish List 1

When I was a kid my mom would have my sister and I make a Christmas 'Wish List.' Back then it was compiled mainly from the toy section of the Sears catalogue. As I flipped the pages I would write down things I felt I could not live without, and over the years I actually received many of those things. Most of them came with a short lived wave of joy, followed by a quick transition to a box in the closet, never to be seen again. If I am honest this pattern has continued at times, decades later, even as a much bigger kid. This week we wrestle with the question of what we all really want most for Christmas, and just how to go about getting it.
