The Prayer

Other than wondering if we are using debts or trespasses, The Lord’s Prayer is something that many Christians can recite by heart. These familiar words have become common, but there is power in them. After all, this is how Jesus taught us to pray! Join us for this eight week journey through The Prayer as we seek to re-infuse power by discovering why these words were important to Jesus and what He wanted us to learn from them!

  • lead us not into temptation...

    MARCH 26, 2017

This week Rob wraps up our look into the Lord's Prayer with a clarification of temptation.

Have you ever been tempted? At times is temptation so pervasive in your life that it seems unescapable and unending? If you want to know what to do with temptation, whether or not it ever diminishes, and how to deal with it successfully, then this is the week for you! Just think of all we could do for Jesus if we could reallocate our 'battling or giving into temptation' time. The good news is that God is present and He wants to help. Today we are going to learn just how to make this step real in our lives!

  • Forgive us our debts...

    MARCH 19, 2017

As we approach the end of this series, today Rob challenges us to 'pay it forward'.

Have you ever noticed how bad we are at sowing what we want to reap? We typically want to get something that we have never given, and this part of the prayer really challenges us on this. We all like the idea of having our slates wiped clean, and then we think about how far ahead we’d be if we could collect on what everyone owed us, instead of paying what we receive forward. God’s grace is big, and He wants to and will forgive all of our debts, but this is absolutely contingent on each of us doing the same thing for others!

  • Give us today our daily bread...

    MARCH 12, 2017

This week Rob discourages coming to God as if He's a genie in a bottle.

One of the most difficult things about keeping our eyes on Jesus is the pressure we all feel to get things done and make ends meet. What if all that we truly needed to make it through the day was already provided? While it is not always everything we want, and while it may not be enough for the next two days, God has a way of providing the mana we need for each day. The trick is to look to Him, come to Him, and trust Him each and every day.

  • on earth as it is in heaven...

    march 5, 2017

This week Rob teaches us how we can all participate in bringing Heaven to Earth.

Have you ever thought that you get to live one way in the here and now, and then when we all get to Heaven there will be a different and better way we have to live? Many times we mistakenly view this as we can have fun now and we will have to accept boring obedience then. Not only is eternity in Heaven going to be the most incredible experience ever, but this part of the prayer teaches us that God's desire for every Christ follower is to live in ways that cause Heaven to come crashing into earth right now!

  • Your will be done...

    FEBRUARY 26, 2017

As we reach the halfway point of The Prayer series, Pastor Rob illustrates an uncomfortable metaphor.

What do you want? I suspect the answer is the same for all of us. You want what you want, just like I want what I want. Even Jesus himself, when facing death, prayed “not my will, but Yours be done.” We all know that God’s will is better and higher than ours, but we still struggle prioritizing Him over ourselves. Listen to this message as we talk about how earnestly asking and inviting God to refocus us in this way can have life changing results.

  • your kingdom come...

    FEBRUARY 19, 2017

This week Pastor Rob talks about Heaven and Earth colliding.

The major theme of Jesus’ ministry, and the thing He spoke of more than anything, was the Kingdom of God. But what is this kingdom all about, where is it, and how do we get it to come down here? One thing Jesus seems to be doing over and over again in this prayer is training us to reorient ourselves to a new perspective. If your life is all about building your own Kingdom, Jesus offers us all a better path… one that can set us free!

  • Hallowed be your name...

    FEBRUARY 12, 2017

In Week 2 Pastor Ned talks about stripping down ourselves and dressing up God.

We have lost the respect and even fear that use to come from a important or powerful person. God himself is at the pinnacle of those we should revere. So much so that His name alone, even without His presence, is holy and powerful. In the Hebrew, the name of God was always written without vowels so that it could not be pronounced. Scribes would take special care when simply writing these consonants. Come rediscover the holiness of God’s name and see the power that comes from approaching Him and uttering His name with the gravity it demands!

  • Our father in heaven...

    FebrUARY 5, 2017

This week Rob opens a new series on The Lord's Prayer.

On the one hand there is danger in calling ourselves into the presence of God as sinful people. On the other hand this God is our perfect Heavenly Father who loves us and wants nothing more that our renewal, restorations, reconciliation, and redemption. If you are a parent, think about the lengths you would go to in order to help or even rescue your children. God’s desire is for our best and He has the position and resources to make all things possible!
