The Table

Have you ever encountered something that only ever happened at church, and you didn’t really know how to think or feel about it?  Maybe it was a strange practice, or perhaps it was something meaningful, but you just didn’t know how it applied to your broader life.  The practice of Communion, also known as the Eucharist or the Lord’s Supper, certainly is one of these unique occurrences.  As we sit at the table that God himself has prepared for us, there are some key things all of us should know. Come join us at The Table!

    NOVEMBER 26, 2017

In the final week of The Table, Pastor Rob shares God's invitation.

When we discover a place where we are truly welcome, receive nourishment, and find real power, this is usually a place we want to return to again and again. Maybe even set up camp and become a permanent resident.  This makes sense and is even good and right in many ways.  But there is an important step that is required of all of us to make this teaching complete.  Much like each of us received a personal invitation, God wants to do so much more.  Join us... learn just how big God’s table actually is!

  • THE cup

    NOVEMBER 19, 2017

This week Pastor Rob teaches us the importance of the cup.

When we come to the table of God, the other thing we always find is a cup. A container that represents possibility and potential!  What are your favorite things to put or find in a cup?  There are things we love.  There are things we need.  There are also things that are good for us that we don’t prefer or even despise.  The substance we find in the cup at the table of God embodies all of this and so much more.  Gifts and blessing that fill us up and course through our veins.  Watch and experience the power in the cup we find at God’s table!

  • the bread

    NOVEMBER 12, 2017

This week Pastor Rob teaches us the importance of the bread.

When we come to the table of God, one of the things we always find is bread.  I still remember the first time I took communion when the wafer actually tasted great.  For me there was no going back to stale, bland crackers!  Flavor aside, there is a ton of meaning contained when we receive the gift of this bread.  It represents things that we do not deserve and calls us to places that challenge our comfort and the status quo. There is way more to this tasty morsel than meets the eye.  In this message, you'll discover the power of the bread that we find at God’s table!

  • you are welcome

    NovemBER 5, 2017

This series begins with Pastor Rob encouraging us to come to the table, where we are always welcome.

A welcome is something that most churches would extend to virtually anyone.  Many of us are wired in this way as we interact with people as well.  But many of us also know what it feels like to receive a verbal invite, perhaps out of nothing more than politeness, only to show up and everything else screams that we are not actually welcome at all.  Because we have experienced this from people, and even God’s people, we can all honestly wonder if we have fallen into a category where God himself doesn’t want us around either.  Take a look at this message, and learn that there is a spot at God’s table for you!
